Canada, A Great Experiment (

Gord has always believed that Canada is one of the greatest experiments in the human existence, but for many years he has been concerned that it was being neglected as people forgot about the sacrifices of many of its citizens in the past as they struggled to survive in increasingly complicated and stressful lives. He now believes that the very fabric of the country is being torn asunder by the competing forces of greed and dwindling resources in an un-necessarily violent world.
His passion for right and wrong began early in life when in the mid 70’s his family was forced to sell their home at a loss due to the dual forces of Government borrowing from private financial institutions which created an excess of currency in the Canadian economy causing runaway inflation and interest rates in excess of 20% in an attempt to reign it in. He did not know it at the time, but reckless lending policies and the Fiat Currency with no backing were very likely the root cause.
During his studies at Queen’s University at Kingston, where he completed a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Science with Honours, he learned of the realities of the world and its dark secrets of war and the destruction of whole cultures in the pursuit of resources and power over thousands of years. This deepened and strengthened his appreciation of Canada and its position in the moral high ground of global peacekeeping and diplomacy.
After University he spent a brief time in Toronto, where he was introduced by his father to Mel Hurtig and the National Party of Canada, which began in him the stirrings of political aspirations.
In the fall of 1993 Gord travelled to Whistler in British Columbia with the intention of spending the winter learning to ski, but instead built a very successful career in sales and stayed for twelve years. It was there that he met the love of his life Adriane and they had their two daughters Devyn and Breanna. They were the largest reason for the family’s move to the Town of the Blue Mountains in search of a more wholesome family environment closer to immediate family.
The events of the past decade and the devastating changes to Canada’s approach to Sovereign Governments, Trade, Civil and Human Rights, the Environment and the abandonment of Moral suasion for the violence of military aggression have convinced Gord that the only way to make a difference is to get involved and take action, which is what led him to the Canadian Action Party.
It’s time to Save Our Sovereignty.
